which layer is best suitable for reporting in sap bw/4hana

Hi All,

I have searched a lot on blogs and documents regarding my query , through which I came to know about corporate memory i.e. it is used for data storage purpose but my query i.e. which layer and which object should be best suitable for reporting and frequent data querying as we all used to do with infocube/multiprovider.

Please help me in finding out the best possible solution.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

From LSA++ point of view, reporting is on virtual data mart layer which sources data from EDW core layer.

Hi Erdem,

Thanks for your reply.

So that means if I want to design a flow on Invoice Verification for reporting purpose,

I have to install /IMO/D_MMIV01 as EDW layer and then /IMO/V_MMIV01 as Virtual data mart layer from Business Content?

am I correct?

If yes what is the significance of

/IMO/MMIV_D01 and /IMO/MMIV_M01 (I mean what are they used for)?

I appreciate your help.

Thanks.

Hi Anu,

Please find the details of LSA++ concept for BW/4HANA here:

https://help.sap.com/viewer/06e872f914a44d77b6c692b0273ca400/1.0.6/en-US/20b4b01f5baf46af8fbd439c741...

All layers are explained quite well.

To sum it up, Corporate Memory can be considered as a backup layer. EDW Core keeps the data which is ready for reporting. Virtual Layer helps you to bring different EDW layers together.
