After many months, the Customer Experience (responsible for the SAP Community) team has come to accept that the Tag Browser Helmut Tammen built (in November, 2016) is worthy of being included in the SAP Community. Built with SAPUI5 technology in the space of 2-3 hours, it was a large part of why Helmut was awarded Member of the Month (aka MoM) in December, 2016, Despite being 6 months out of date (until the recent JSON tag file update), it was still faster and easier to use than the Browse Community functionality available at present. If you wish to do the comparison, feel free.
To navigate to it, go to Community (black header menu) - Blogs (or Questions and Answers) then About Tagging. Scroll down until you see Managed Tags and User Tags and it is just under there with a nice call out for Helmut. [once again, Thank-you Helmut for providing this tool at a time when it was desparately needed!!!]
Yes, I am going to ask a question! I'm getting there!! Just be patient.
You are all reasonably familiar with SAPUI5 (or you are learning). I would like you all to exercise, test, try to break, etc. the Tag Browser. It was built quickly and well, but not enhanced since its first iteration as it was not accepted by the Customer Experience team until a couple weeks ago and not implemented until this past Monday (maybe Sunday?) due to some slight challenges with getting updated Tag information incorporated. The data source will change from a JSON file to making use of the Semaphore Workbench API (any thoughts on whether this will slow it down at all?).
I would also like to see it incorporate links to the respective Community Topic Pages as well as the links to the various other pages, but since the Community Topic Pages are probably going to undergo significant changes in the coming weeks, there are probably other enhancements which would have greater value.
So any other suggestions functional or cosmetic to improve it? No it will not have a huge banner image across the top! All other suggestions are welcome!
Thanks, Mike (Moderator)

Here are some of the documentation links for Semaphore Workbench if you need to do some more research:
Here is an entry point to the Smart Logic site for technical documentation (I made no evaluations of the content, just a quick search results) :
https://www.smartlogic.com/home/knowledge-zone/white-papers/2748-unlock-the-value-in-content-to-driv... (supposed to have details of the API Libraries and documentation)
I also found a few GitHub items which might help with the process:
Hi All,
thanks for using my app and the valueable comments.
I sat down and implemented them (hope I didn't forget anything).
The new version is available (don't forget to clear the cache, cloud platform doesn't have a app cachebuster yet).
Here is the list of changes I implemented:
Cheers Helmut

Hello Helmut,
woah, you're fast! ^^
Veselina had another valuable idea:
Currently Area is shown only as a higher level item, which is not selectable, neither appears for the underlying items. Let's say I search for Ariba. I will get as a result several items. It would be nice, if one could see that SAP Ariba Live is an event in the list result.
Is there a chance you could implement that, too? 🙂
.
And I'm seeing double for some tags (searched for "Ariba" here). Is the new connection to the workbench the issue? Anybody else seeing this, too?
.
These are doubled, because we have some tags with the same name, which are probably used for aggregation or something completely unrelated.
You cannot use them to tag content directly and you cannot follow them (if you still have the old Excel file, you can see them as Displayed but not selectable). This is why there are no links to Blogs and Q&A for them.
I do not know whether the file, which was used as source of data, makes a similar distinction.
Ah, those are these "grouping" tags. More like titles. Good to know.
