KeyFigures in Aggregate table

Dear Experts

While executing the query,it fetches data from the aggregated table.We do aggregate on the basis of characteristics(filling up),then how report fetches Keyfigure values.KF values only available in DB level(Fact table),then what is the use of aggregates.

I heard that aggregate table doesnt store KF value,report fetches only from DB level.Is that true?

Any lightings please?
