Formula and variables on display attributes

1. Can a Formula be used on display attributes? If so, how?

2. Also, is it possible to create variable (user entry) on display attributes? If so, how?

If I change it to Navigational attribute, can I use it in the calculation in the formula?

does it contain numerical value?? If yes, then you can pull the values in a formula variable through replacemnet path and then you can use it in the formula caluclation.
