SAP ByDesign - Balance Carry Forward Monthly

Hi,
Is there a way to do a balance carry forward on a monthly basis?

Customer's current practice from their legacy system to move the P&L balance to retained earnings on a monthly basis. In summary, they do hard close every month.

I may have missed any configuration/setup as from what I'm seeing we are only able to do a soft close per month, meaning we only lock the periods. There is no actual postings to transfer to retained earnings on a monthly basis.

Hello Eric,

Balance Carry forward is a yearly closing process. You don’t need to do any specific posting if the requirement is to only view retained earnings on every month. The Trial Balance report or financial statements report internally simulates BCF and shows retained earnings.
