Hi,
Can anybody explain me the significance of creating the revisions for the maintenance orders? If expalined with the business example will be very helpful for me.
Thanks
Dear,
Further to the topic it can be used with maintenance event builder.

Hi,
Thanks for the good replies
So what i understood is that, when the annual shutdown is taken and if the shutdown is lasting for the 1 month, then the planned and the unplanned (Looks not logical as during shutdown there will not be any corrective) orders during that one month period will be clubbed together and executed as a one order. This will also comply the maintenance requirements of the various technical objects as per the various quality standards. This revision is plant specific.
But i only have one question here, if the annual shutdown is taken every year, then is it really required to carry the preventive maintenance of the equipments? Is the work carried out in annual shutdown is different than the work carried out in preventive maintenance?
I know these are more business process questions, but request you to help me to find the appropriate answers.
Thanks
Dear,
During annual shutdown all the jobs which are planned thought the year which were not possible to address due to the capacity or equipment running condition can be carried out.
Shutdown jobs mostly covers Overhaling some companies provides seprate budget / capex for such activities.
Shutdown alos covers some times major modification / upgradation of the machinerires system. This helps in increasing the avalibility , productivity of the organsiation.
As understood by u for revision is correct.
Two things I would like to add further.
1.There is Revision nos for each notification order if u assign as per your requirement for precise planning & saggrigation.
2.You can schdeule the jobs with revion all the operations assigned to the orders according to the work centre capacity gets scheduled & at higher level u can monitor the activities.

When I was involvld with maintenance planning, the shutdown maintenance was a big event.
We assigned the revision number to any notifications/orders that could only be carried out when the plant was shut down.
This would include unplanned corrective orders as well as planned maintenance.
In this way the dates were all kept in synch, and if we had an unplanned shutdown, we could reschedule easily using the revision and carry out as much of the work as possible during the time the plant was shut down. This would then allow the option of making the planned shutdown a shorter event.
