Track the 'Start Date of Work' in SAP HR for Employees Who Goes on Illness

Hi Guys,

I have a new requirement in SAP HR to track the 'start date of work' for employees who goes on illness/ vacations.

This start date will be the return date of employee from illness/ vacations.

We cannot rely on IT2001 as the employees can extend their leaves/vacations any time. This date will be used to assign work/trainings for the employees. This date is important as this will flow to other systems/ people.

According to my client: SAP data flows in their LMS (leave management system) and employees register their absences there. Client doesn't want their superusers to update the data back end as the electronic signature from employee for that extension would be missing, so they want a special field to track a date as the 'start date of working'.

This change is done for legal/compliance reasons.

Can you help me with any infotype where I can store this data?

My best bet is to store this in IT0019. But i need your suggestions too.

I think Create a Task type " Start Date of Work " and maintain that in IT0019 and leave the Enduser Flexible the the user will enter the date when the employee returns back from illness
