Hello, Sorry about my previous post , not sure how it got posted while i was still typing.

Anyways, we are in downtime phase of EHP1 upgrade. MAIN_NEWBAS/TABIM_POST phase has been running since yesterday but there is no error ..EHP gui shows its stil running.

The only log that keeps generating in the OS level is SLOG702.LOG.. which shows the following error/warning:

WARNING: Background job RDDIMPDP could not be started or terminated abnorm ally.

Please check that the R/3 system is running.

Please check the system. Use transactions SM21, SM37, SM50.

WARNING: (This warning is harmless if no further warnings follow.)

WARNING: System <SID>. Warning. 20110924095653 :

Please check that the R/3 system is running.

It suggests that RDDIMPDP could not start. can anyone share if anyone ran into this?

Please suggest .

thanks

Hello,

EhP1 upgrade of which system ?

If this is the only log then run the report RDDNEWPP report to regenerate the job RDDIMPDP.

But if the job cancellation is not the issue, then there could be many. For e.g. if filesystem is full, any other short dump corresponding to this job failure.

Thanks

Hi DatabaseSAP,

Thanks for your reply. After i repeated this phase it ran through. But now its doing the samething in another phase:MAIN_NEWBAS/XPRAS_AIMRG. ..

Log shows the same warning about RDDIMPDP job not being able to run or termimated.

could this be due to Operation Mode not being setup correctly in RZ04 for Upgrade? There are CI and 4 apps servers in the Ops mode, so i am not sure if only the CI is supposed to be defined in Ops mode for the Uprade purpose since we will be running upgrade in CI. Please suggest.

This is resolved. I didtnt stop the apps servers that was the root cause. After stopping all apps servers and repeating the phase, the downtime phase completed with no issues. Thanks , closing the thread.
