How to create a rolling forecast in SAC? I have an actual and budget version for 2024.

I am trying to build a rolling forecast in SAC. Have seen some instructions but the information is vague.
I have an actual version and a budget version for 2024.
What prerequisites do I have to build a rolling forecast? I know how to get the forecast layout in a story. If I choose actuals of three months to look back or a cut off date and 15 month to look ahead, how to I get values in the forecasted months?

Hi kocomandi

In forecast layout definition, you can specify both look back version( actual) and look ahead version( forecast).

Best regards, William

Yes, however, the look ahead version (Forecast) is something I need to first create? Meaning, do I need to create a new version in SAC for Forecast? If so, what timeline this needs to be? If I am looking ahead 18 months in the Forecast version, how will the data be populated in the rolling forecast?

Yes, it's only a forecast layout. So you need to have a forecast version first to define the layout. For populating data for forecast version, you have different ways of doing according to your needs, you can even use predictive forecasting( part of smart predict) feature if you want.

I am doing this in a table, so I am not using predictive forecast for a chart.
