Frequency for maintenance of equipments.

Hi all,

My client wants to enter frequency for maintenance of equipments.E.g. after every 3 days, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, half yearly etc.

Now that they need a template to record the same for all equipments so that the same may be uploaded in SAP.

How to go about this, please guide.

you can use the transaction code LSMW to upload Equipment master,Task list,Maintenance plans

LSMW steps: Enter transaction code LSMW

>Create project

>Create sub project

>Create object

A) select the standard object required in the "maintain object attributes"

Click "Standard batch/direct input" ,enter the relavant object

1.Choose the object "equipment" to upload equipment master

2.Choose the object "task list" to upload task lists

3.Choose the object "Maintenance plans" to upload the maintenance plans

B)Maintain source structure

c)source fields(Enter the fields you required to upload"

d)Maintain the structure relations

e)Do the data mapping(map excel file and SAP feilds)

f)Assign the file and specify field

g)read and convert

h)create Batch input session

i)Run batch input session

Hi,

This will be done through different Master Data.

1. First upload your equipments (Use Recording technique SHDB)

2. Create the Maintenance Strategy in IP11

3. Use BDC technique to upload the Task list (General / Equipment)

4. Create Maintenance Plan for the Equipments (Use Recording technique)

If you are assigning the frequency to equipment in equipment master only for information, then you can go only for 1st step which I mentioned.

Dear Maheswaran,

I have created a Maintenance strategy with differant packages as per the requirement. Created Equipment TL and assigned the said strategy to the TL.Equipment master is uploaded to SAP.

Now can i upload the TL with Strategy to the SAP using any of the available tools or i have to do it seperately .

One more thing is should i have to create plan for this scenario?Please advice in detail.

So you have done with Task list with Strategy, defined operations in the task list & those operations have been assigned to corresponding frequency in the Task list.

Now do the recording for IP42 in LSMW t - code, give the input for the required fields. It will create the template to be prepared for the Maintenance Plan.

Maintenance Plans are required to schedule the Maintenance Orders according to the maintenance strategy.

Dear Maheswaran,

Equipment master data is uploaded but not the Equipment Task list data.

Now my question is can i upload equipment Task lists with Maint Strategy (packages assigned), to SAP directly or first upload Task list and then the Strategy (with Packages).

Hi,

You can create the Maintenance Strategy manually in IP11 as it is only one master data & you add all the frequencies in that.

For Task list, you can with BDC. Ask your ABAP people to write the program for the same.

Then go for uploading Maintenance plan. You can use recording technique for Maintenance plan.
