Buffer in Multiple counter plan

Hi,

In this following link, it is mentioned that Preliminary and follow up buffer is possible in Multiple counter plan.

If it is yes, How buffer can be maintained in IP43 Multiple counter plan ?

Hi,

In Multiple Counter Plan, only Preliminary buffer is allowed.

In Maintenance Plan Scheduling Parameters, you can find the Lead Float in Days, there you can enter the days. But this is not package level. This is for whole Maintenance Plan.

In Maintenance Strategy, you can maintain the same in Package level.

Yes i agree , i think there is a bug or some typing error in the help. as you can see in same link it is specified , OR or AND link can be specified in maintenance plan and package level but you cannot able to see the same at strategy

But even in Maintenance Plan, there is no field for Follow up float. So this may be correct.

while defining the cycle set i think there is no hierarchy specified.

Yes. Premilinary buffer only possible that is through Lead float only

Follow up buffer is not possibe in Multiple counter plan

Hi,

I feel, Hierarchy & this AND / OR link type are giving same functionality.

For example, there are 3 cycles in Multiple Counter Plan. Monthly, Quarterly & 100 run hours

If OR link type has been maintained, if any of the condition is satisfied, then call object will be created. This is not predictable as Run Hours cant be predicted in advance.

If AND has been maintained, all the conditions should be satisfied.

In Hierarchy also, we can prioritize the frequency, but this predicted one. I am getting confused here.

Please correct me.

But in Cycle defintion, we have no option to maintain that.

I think hierarchy can be used for only strategy plan (one dimesional ) but in multicounter plan it wont work thats why AND/OR link is for multicounter plan (Multi dimesional)

AND, OR - is to determine when to call the object whether all cycles to reach the cycle or any one

Yes Hierarchy is only used to decide which packege to be used if any overllap is there , but AND/OR link is to call the call object upon satisfying the conditions.

AND / OR link => To prioritize the conditions given (Which should be satisfied)

Hierarchy => To prioritize the results (To priortize the Package).

So, we can't maintain the preliminary and followup in multiple counter plan.

can you explain why P,S entered in multiple counter in the link ?

Lead float is similar to preliminary float

What about followup float ?

Only preliminary Buffer can be maintained in Multicounter plan (Lead float days) , but not the followup buffer.

In that liink also you can find that followup buffer not support for multicounter Plan, only preliminary buffer is allowed in multicounter.
