Best Approach as to begin in this field....

.. Good Afternoon all. I am an experienced Salesperson looking for a new direction. I currently have several years at a good job as an account executive in a competitve industry, but feel bored.

I have had the drive to begin a new career in software and CRM sales and really am trying to find out the best approach to make myself stand out and get a good grasp as to the market and competiton.

Is there a suggestion as to what the best approach is? Where could I begin?
