Dynamically change selection filter in transformation

Hi,

does anyone know how to solve the following problem?

I am loading transactional data from BW to BPC through data manager.

In my transformation file I am using the following parameter to restrict the amount of data being loaded:

SELECTION=/CPMB/I0D8CUP,2009.12;/CPMB/I0DFYJU,353;/CPMB/I0DGDMY,CPOJ

Right now the user has to manually edit this parameter. What I would like to have is that the user can dynamically change the constants through a data manager prompt.

Does anyone know how to handle this?

Perhaps there is another way how to dynamically set the filters but I haven't found it yet.

Any advice will be highly appreciated.

Jan,

We have looked into this on my project and we do not believe it is possible. Hopefully SAP will deliver some functionality here eventually as it is a significant pain-point for data management.

Maybe (I hope) someone else knows another way to do this, but I'm not very optimistic.

Ethan,

thanks for your post. This is unfortunately what I have expected I have created an OSS message and if I get a clear answer from SAP I will post it here.

Jan,

You may want to read the idea posted over here ([]) to determine if it might work for you. You could simulate dynamism in the transformation file selection by updating navigational attributes. You could create a custom data manager package or script logic BADI to allow the user to update the values of the navigational attributes from within BPC.
