Hi

Did you try to restart the SUM after renaming the earlier location and starting in a new location ?

    Thanks

    Hi,

It looks to me as windows issue.

Can try to reset the tool and see if it works.

Do you have sandbox system where you can try the below patch.

    1. Download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update x86 and x64 executables from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=26347

And then try to run the tool.

    Thanks

More likely you have some components not installed. Please check if vcredist component was installed on server.

      Hi,

From the error logs tool fails to die in the below phase.

Dec 31, 2013 2:11:58 PM [Info]: Request ABAP operation extract status set to RUNNING Executing phase MOD_SELROADMAP/SELECT_ROADMAP

Dec 31, 2013 2:12:04 PM [Error]: Tool died unexpectedly with .

Dec 31, 2013 2:12:04 PM [Error]: Error from unit observer

Dec 31, 2013 2:12:04 PM [Error]: Extraction of the ABAP upgrade request ABAP has failed

      And

Dec 31, 2013 2:11:44 PM [Info ]: Dialog type InfoText with dialog name Empty Line displays dialog text <null>.

Dec 31, 2013 2:11:44 PM [Info ]: Dialog type InfoText with dialog name ERROR_MESSAGE displays dialog text
Warning: The current system version could not be detected from the provided stack; SUM will count on the determined system version.
.

Dec 31, 2013 2:11:44 PM [Info ]: Dialog type InfoText with dialog name ONE_LINE_OF_SPACE displays dialog text

.

Dec 31, 2013 2:11:44 PM [Info ]: Dialog type InfoText with dialog name TARGET_STATE displays dialog text

But they both look to be different phase.

Did you generate the XML file properly.

Do you see any file in the tmp directory like any of the special characters ("!" "$").

Can you please pass on the screen shot of the MOD_SELROADMAP/SELECT_ROADMAP phase.

Can you see any log related to this phase.

But did you read the note that IDES upgrade is not supported.

      Thanks
