Hi,

I'm setting up Solman7.0EHP1, and facing some problems and questions below.

Could you give me some advice?

1.BI

After making BI activate, CCMSBI_SETUP job is executed in Basic Configraion -

Automatic Configraiton - Diagnostics Configraion phase.

And this job isn't working properly, with some errors below.

I've assigned the role of SAP_BW_CCMS_SETUP and SAP_PI_CCMS_SETUP to SOLMAN_ADMIN,

and ZSAP_SOLMAN_ADMIN to SMD_RFC.(SAPNote 1306820)

I want a solution about this and want to know

how you can say the normal state of BI in Solman?

As long as this problem, I guess that only checking BI status in RSTCO_ADMIN, which is green,

is not enough.

2.SMDAgent

On the screen of Managed system configration in solman_setup, my Managed system doesn't show up.

It seems to me that SMDAgent can't connect to Solman(local SLD). Is that the cause?

May 6, 2009 11:02:05 AM [Thread[main,5,main]] Info ===> Establishing connection to server '[host is empty]' on port [port is empty]

May 6, 2009 11:02:17 AM [Thread[Connector,5,main]] Info Smd connector is disabled because no SLD association and no credentials found.

May 6, 2009 11:02:17 AM [Thread[Connector,5,main]] Info Smd connector is disabled because no SLD association and no credentials found.

I setup the agent with smdsetup sldconf hostname:"SolmanHostname" port:"50000" user:"SOLMAN_ADMIN" pwd:"<SOLMAN_ADMIN_PWD>",

Solman ABAP Sys No. is 00.

When re-installing SMDAgent, SAPinst couldn't access to SLD as SLDDSUSER but SOLMAN_ADMIN.

I checked that I can login Solman SLD as SOLMAN_ADMIN via Web browser.

did you add an SLD from your managed system to Solman sld server and then maintained it in SMSY too ?

Thanks for your quick reply.

I didn't do the following procedures yet.

The problem on SMDAgent is solved.

*SMSY_SETUP in Solman server

*Certification of connection from SMDAgent to SMDServer

and

*Unlock SLDDSUSER (I didn't know when it's locked.)

Thanks a lot.

Does someone have tips about the BI problem?

Hello Hernando,

I did the following.

Managed System Configuration

->Manual Configration

->Assign Diagnostics Agent

->'Agents' tab

->'Agent Candidates Management' link

and you login SLD, not Read-only, then attach the SMD Agent to SLD.

I hope this will be your solution.

hello Hideaki:

Is your managed system a abap system or a dual-stack system?

Which platform is it running on?

I was told the SMD agent is running from a small JAVA based environment. Is that true?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bill,

My system is a dual-stack on Windows 2008.

The answer on your question is Yes, but I've also wanted to know

the dealing with SMD Agent in several environment.

My understanding is ...

*SMD Agent is installed to only Java or dual-stack system.

*This means Wily Agent isn't installed to only ABAP system.

*ST-A/PI takes the role of SMD Agent in only ABAP system.

This is my guess, so I'm not sure.

Please someone tell me if I'm wrong.
