PREP_EXTRACT/SCAN_DOWNLOADDIR missing SAR files

Hi

I am upgrading our DEV HR ERP6 EHP6 on Linux/Oracle 19 to ERP6 EHP8.

I have reached SUM phase PREP_EXTRACT/SCAN_DOWNLOADDIR and this has stopped with 4 missing .SAR Files

Archive Verification

The following archives are not found in the download directory:

• /usr/sap/SUM/ERP6_EHP8_GRC10.1_FIORI_100521/MDG_APPL618.SAR
• /usr/sap/SUM/ERP6_EHP8_GRC10.1_FIORI_100521/MDG_UX618.SAR
• /usr/sap/SUM/ERP6_EHP8_GRC10.1_FIORI_100521/FINBASIS700.SAR
• /usr/sap/SUM/ERP6_EHP8_GRC10.1_FIORI_100521/SEM-BW700.SAR

Ensure that all archives are available before you continue.

The Maintenance Planner looks ok, I updated the system from the LMDB and the verification worked ok, the .xml does list these files.

I have searched the download centre for the 4 missing .SAR files and they are not there?

I ran the MP again and it does list the:

MDG_APPL618.SAR Attribute Change Package 17 for MDG_APPL 618 5

in the download files step, but I do not see it in the SAP download manager.

I did a google search and it did report an OSS Note which seems to match the error in the text preview:

3032822 - SUM ABAP : error in phase PREP_EXTRACT

But in the SAP market place this note is not available.

Has anyone seen this error before?

Thanks, I have tried your search and it has returned no results on my S ID? that is odd, it is like I do not have the authorisations, I have been using this account for around 5 years and never had an issue downloading software, I regularly update these systems with HR Packages etc:

It can be a license issue. Please raise a SAP Support incident, under XX-SER-SWFL-LICENSE component.

I have the same problem - except Finbasis.
I think it´s a problem of the maintenance planner

I created 1 month ago an xml-file for EHP8 upgrade - no problem.

After HR packages G4+5 I created friday 14th a new one - here the problem came up.

Comparing the two stack files - in the old stack-file, the problematic files were not mentioned.

But in the new stack-file there are the new coponents metioned as well (MDG 619 eg.).

I delete the sections of the problematic files in the stack.xml and everything went fine.

In the upgrade system are the new versions installed.

On EHP8 the 4 components are all on a higher level , I raised a support Incident and SAP allowed me access to the ACP's, no idea why I did not have access as these are standard components, after that the phase completed ok, DEV upgraded, I am current upgrading QAS using the same Stack.xml and it has passed this phase.

Maintenance Planner was definitely doing something odd when it generated the stack file, as I did an EHP8 upgrade of our Sandpit system after a recent copy of PRD last month and that did not require the 4 ACP's..SAR, but we did add recent HR LCP's, so maybe that is the difference?

I would be careful manually editing the stack files, as it could cause a mismatch in components, could you not download the missing .SAR files?

Hi Paul,

The KBA is archived.

Basically there are missing ACP (Attribute Change Package) files at downloading the Stack.xml.

Most likely the recent SUM should resolve the issue.

Otherwise, download the ACP and repeat the phase.

I am using the latest SUM, Software Update Manager 2.0 SP10 (PL4), which came down with the MP, I cannot find the ACP when I search for them on the download centre/archive.

For MDG_APPL618.SAR, search for MDG_APPL==618
For MDG_UX618.SAR, search for MDG_UX====618
For FINBASIS700.SAR, search for FINBASIS==700
For SEM-BW700.SAR, search for SEM-BW====700

Then try again.

When I search, it is not coming back for the ACP 618, these are the ACP's returned from the download centre for MDG_APPL
