Portal Log-off & other links not working in IE8

Hello All,

I tried to open the portal in the IE8 version. If worked fine except that I am not able to log-off from the portal session. It seems to me like these labels are not functioning with IE8. I tried to click on Personalize link, Help link, collaboration link but none of them are working.

FYI.. I know IE6 is best for portal but I want to configure in IE8 only. No other version.

Also, other portal functionalities are fine, like Detailed Navigation, Top level navigation toolbar etc.

Please suggest the way or configuration need to be done to make them work.

Regards

hi,

With respect to your problem of IE8, as per SAP recommendations the following browsers are compatible to be used for accessing the EP.

The following information can be accessed thru PAM in Service Market place.

INTERNET EXPLORER 5.5

INTERNET EXPLORER 6.0

INTERNET EXPLORER 6.0

INTERNET EXPLORER 6.0

INTERNET EXPLORER 6.0

INTERNET EXPLORER 6.0

INTERNET EXPLORER 7.0

INTERNET EXPLORER 7.0

INTERNET EXPLORER 7.0

IE8 is havong some problems while accesing the Portal.

If you still want to use IE8 then try the following things

--Turn Off Pop-up Blocker

--Allow pop-ups when yahoo/Google toolbar installed

--select u201CEnableu201D option for u201CActive scriptingu201D and u201CAllow paste operations via scriptu201D configurations

Hi Gopi,

I tried those settings. Not able to find "Allow paste operations via scriptu201D.

Rest configured. Still the same issue.

As Michael said above, please try View Compatibilty View button.

I am also using IE8. If some web site can be viewed better in Compaitbility mode, one icon will appear just before the Refresh icon. Click on that and you would be able to see the pages properly.

( this problem comes especially when the page is implemented in web dynpro- usually seen in sdn pages as well) - no need to downgrade the explorer.

I had been using it from Dec 08.

Thanks,

Arun

Select

Tools> Internet Options> u201CSecurityu201D tab---> Select the zone either u201CInternetu201D or u201CLocal intranet

Click the button u201CCustom Levelu201D.

look for u201CScriptingu201D.

There you find the option.
