Hi
We recently upgraded from CrystalReport Runtime from version 11.5 to 12.2 (to support windows 2008) and i am getting the following error when i try to view a report
Message: Failed to export report: ado. Error Message: This field name is not known.
Details: errorKind
Error in File rpt_adTranscriptUnofficial {B8D43610-89C0-48E2-93AD-D2212C1CA1B2}.rpt:
Error in formula TermLength:
'ToText({ado.IsRegularTerm}) & "-" & ToText(DateDiff ("d", {ado.termStart} , {ado.termEnd}))
This report works fine in 11.5 version so i know that there is no problem with the report /data source etc.
I found this defect "ADAPT01313677" and it says that this was fixed in Fix pack 2.3 , I installed Fixpack 2.3 and that did not solve the issue , I have upgraded to Fix pack 2.5 and i am still getting the same error message.
The report is being called from a Web Application ( i have a binch of reports that work fine ) and when i remove this formula and delete all references to this the report works fine.
I would appreciate any help.
What CR SDK are you using?
Are you using .NET?

Hi Ludek
I am using .NET
I am using the following DLL's in the Project Reference
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine 12.0.1100.0
CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Framework 12.0.1100.0
CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.InfoStore 12.0.1100.0
CrystalDecisions.ReportSource 12.0.1100.0
CrystalDecisions.Shared 12.0.1100.0
Thanks
I don't think the Fix Packs are taking on your box.
Version 12.2.2000.290 indicates that the box is only updated to CR 2008 SP 2. I have SP2 + FP 2.6 and my dll is version 12.2.2006.567. FP 2.5, should be 12.2.2005.537.
So that would explain why the app i still throwing errors after you apply the FP...
Not sure why the FPs are not taking though. Make sure .NET and or CR is running. Or any other app that might be using the CR runtime. Make sure you are logged in as local admin and try to reapply the FP again.

Hi When i try to run the installer i get the folllowing error message
"Product: Crystal Reports 2008 FP 2.5 Update -- Crystal Reports 2008 FP 2.5 Update can not install because the product it is meant to patch is not found on the system. Setting the SKIP_PATCH_VERSION_CHECK property will skip this check."
I did the SKIP_PATCH_VERSION=true and did an install last time , do you think that is why the installer did not update the DLL's ?
Do you want to do the same thing or am i missing something here ?
Thanks for all your time and help
So, notice on Apr 19, 2010 you said that the references in your project are:
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine 12.0.1100.0
CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Framework 12.0.1100.0
CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.InfoStore 12.0.1100.0
CrystalDecisions.ReportSource 12.0.1100.0
CrystalDecisions.Shared 12.0.1100.0
Yet your designer is 11.5.3.417. How do we square that? E.g.; you do not have CR designer 12.x installed on the computer, thus the FPs will not install.

Hi
The reports were created using 11.5 , but now since some of our clients use windows 2008 i thought we could compile the projects using the latest drivers and deploy to the client environment using the 12.2 MSI , i am trying to test a similiar thing by deplying to a WS 2008 server which does not have the designer installed and i run into the same issue.
What would be your suggestion to resolve this ?
Thanks
Well, just downloading the MSI for CR 2008 and adding the references to your project is a license violation. You must obtain Crystal Reports 2008 in order to work with the CR 2008 (12.x) assemblies in your project. Once you have CR 2008 designer installed on your development computer, get the appropriate SPs and FPs and recompile. Then use the appropriate msi to deploy the project. But until you obtain a valid copy of CR 2008, I'd consider this thread closed...

Yup. You can find it here:
and you can also search for downloads here:

Hi
The Crytal Reports works fine on my local machine, However i am still having a problem with installing the drivers on our Test Servers, I got the 12.2 MSM Date Modified (3/19/2009 size 59122 KB) and packaged it. I also installed the VC ++ Redist Runtime on the test server and when i try to run the installer I get the error message "querypanel.dll failed to register". Do you have an suggestions on how this can be fixed ?
Thanks
Hi
This is what i see when i open the dependency walker
Error: At least one required implicit or forwarded dependency was not found.
Warning: At least one delay-load dependency module was not found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module.
the message says the following files are missing
MSVCR80.DLL
IESHIMS.DLL
WER.DLL
I installed the VC ++ Runtime installer before installing the Drivers.
The strange thing is that i see the same error on the development machine (where i have installed the designer)
I did not try registering the DLL manually because this is part of the setup that will be delivered to clients and we will not be able to do that . I tried installing on another machine and got the same error.
Hi
As per your suggestion i tried registering the DLL (It registered successfully ), I registered it from this directory (C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86) and ran the installer again and i got the exact same error
"Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\querypanel.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147010895. Contact your support personnel."
Thanks
If you registered under the same user account as the one you are running this under, I'd recommend creating a phone case:
To weird. You'll need to speak to someone re. this issue.
