I am building Crystal reports from an existing BW queried. The report automatically generates prompts corresponding to the BW prompts, but these are static, and so when the report is moved to a new environment it fails to pick up the new values.
I tried changing the prompt to be dynamic but the result is that all prompts (not just the one I change) fail to display a list of values. How do I put dynamic prompts over BW?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
in the CR Designer the prompts are static but as soon as the report is being published to the BusinessObjects Enterprise server the list of values are dynamically retrieved from the BW System.

The point I am not understanding is what you mean by "publish". If I save a report to BW and ten save it to BOE (Infoview) is that published?
Or do I need to save to BW and click the check box that says "publish". On my client this produces an error. I am told publisher is not installed. Do I need publisher installed before I can publish?
Thanks again

Hi Ingo,
Thanks for your post for global cascading Prompts in Crystal Report with reflects in Cr 2008.
I am facing same issues we have bex with selection variables which act as an cascading prompts for the Crystal report built on the top of these bex queries.
In CR 2008 the parameter not being reflected as in bex with cascading prompts.
So far we have updated the CR 2008 with Sp4 service pack in all locations i,e webi, integration kit and CR 2008 in both server and client sites.
Also as you have suggested , I have published the Crystal report through the Bo publishing wizard. but still there is no impact on the Crystal reports when viewd throuh infoview. Could you please help us out in this regards
Thanks
