Hi Folks,
I would want to know if in case where i have performed a full update and now i would want to perform a delta for a new set of records that got added. Well could i do it and if yes, should i perform an initialization delta?
Best Regards,
Prithvi
Hi !
welcome to SDN
you can not do a delta with out initialization. ya but there is an option if you have already loaded afulluploaded then you do initialization without loading the data. after which you can do a delta upload.
IF you have any changed records after your fullupload then you dont have no option to do the delta now. may be you can delete all the data in info provider and re do intial upload now.
If you have no changed records in your source system after full upload then you can do an initialization now without loading the data . and in future you can do the delta.
with regards
ashwin
PS n: Awarding points is the way of saying thanks in SDN. you can award points to the helpfull answers by clicking the proper radio button displayed beside the answers on the left side. selecting yellow awards 2 points, selecting green awards 6 points and selecting blue awards 10 points to the person who answered and it is good to close the threads which have an answers which helps other sdners to concentrate on the un answered questions instead of spending time on posts which already have a solution

Hi!
Init load is very much required to carry on with delta load.
But before going for init load after an full load there are few things to be taken care.
If your data target is an ODS then you will have to check OSS note 689964. You will have to run the program RSSM_SET_REPAIR_FULL_FLAG before doing Init load in an ODS. If you skip runing this program before doing init load then you will end up haveing an error or warning in activating your request.
So first run the program and then do inti load with out data transfer and then proceed with delta upload.

Rohini
Hi Rhino,
Thanks for the note, i have gone through the note and it proved to be kind of very technical for me. Here are more doubts from me:
1. What does "Repair Request" mean.
2. I understand, by running the program it performs a delete to the data which is loaded through full update and then re-run the Init in the form of repair request and please correct me if i am wrong.
3. Could you give me a stepwise split of what happens when you run the program and also what happens to the existing data which is loaded through the full update.
Best Regards,
Prithvi
Hi Prithvi,
Steps:
1. Excute the report "RSSM_SET_REPAIR_FULL_FLAG".
2. Give the ODS name and Data Source name and Source System name.
3. Excute again.
4. Then click on the "Repair Full load" push button on the top bar.
Thats it. It will repair your full upload and then you will be able to carry with delta upload.
Once your done with the steps mentioned above do init upload with out data tranfer and then you proceed with delta upload.
This steps will not effect your exciting data. Full upload data will remain and then delta upload will perform its duty by uploading only changed data or any new data.
this steps will surely help because few days back i ahd same issue and BW gurus on thsi board helped me with this solution.
So go ahead and get back if any issue with it.

Rohini

Hello Gurus
This thread is really very informative..thanks to ashwina and rohini.
But i have a small confusion.
Here as ashwin said "IF you have any changed records after your fullupload then you dont have no option to do the delta now. may be you can delete all the data in info provider and re do intial upload now."
Whereas Rohini said "This steps will not effect your exciting data. Full upload data will remain and then delta upload will perform its duty by uploading only changed data or any new data."
I am confused at "changed". will data target accept the changed records or it will refuse to take the changed records.
and
If we do the repair full load with existing data in the datatarget, will it matters when update rules having the overwrite or addtion option to keyfigures. Hope i am clear
Regards
Kanth
