Combining delta and full loads

Hello experts,

Delta initialization is often very time consuming that might become a problem since there should not be any postings in OLTP during the load. This can be alleviated by:

- Performing delta init only for the current year/period onwards and

- Executing separate full loads for the previous years/periods

Is there any hidden dangers in doing this? Or should we always make a full delta init?

Hi Tuo,

If you are very sure the data you are full loading will never change, then there are no dangers.

Lets say u are very sure that there will not be any change for data corresponding to the year 2005.

So you can do a full upload for this data.

But if there is any change in this data in the future that cannot be reflected in BI.
