BO4 - java.lang.null pointer exception - specific user

Hi,

A user getting an error has occured java.lang.null pointer exception with big red x in top left when tries look at some reports.

server platform bo4 sp8.

Any thoughts?

Do look for the version of browser being used. Ensure it is being used in compatible mode for IE.

Where is the 32-bit version of java - didn't realise was a 32 and 64 bit version.

On xp at monnet interanlly so 32-bit one being used in most cases but could be other user has 64-bit version but soon many users moving to Windows 8.1

How can we check if they are using 64-bit version?

It usually does appear with 64-bit mentioned in control panel. Check the same. Also you mentioned are there are users who are able to view the reports without any issues. So how about we install the same java patch for affected users as well.

Also can we try other options from BILaunchPad preferences. Just to ensure that issue is with Java and nothing else.
