There’s an ancient saying that goes, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”.
At SAP Signavio, we embraced this philosophy wholeheartedly and the SAP Signavio Community took a significant step toward understanding our customers better.
Our journey began in September 2023 last year when we launched a customer survey that continued until January 2024. Our target was to get a deeper understanding of our valued customers' needs, aiming to enhance deliverables from our end and increase the acceleration of the use of our BPM suite regarding the Business Process Management methodology orientated on the BPM Lifecycle.
We didn't just ask. We listened. We learned.
We explored various perspectives - from incorporating AI in process optimization, understanding the synergy between BPM and Lean management, to diving into the change management in the context of BPM and more. With the insightful responses we received from 200 of our esteemed customers, we managed to shed light on several hot BPM topics.
The analysis of this customer-driven data has helped us to realize what truly matters to you. Now, to encapsify our learning and promote a dynamic exchange of ideas, we are in the process of curating a series of expert sessions. These sessions aim to be a rich reservoir of knowledge, providing pragmatic solutions to the recurring issues, and delivering insights on diverse topics chosen by our customers. Emerging at the top, with a staggering 94 votes, was the theme of "Introduction to Change Management in the context of BPM". This clearly emphasized that in the dynamic world of BPM, mastering the art and science of managing change is not just important, but vital.
In close competition, "Incorporating AI and Machine Learning in Process Optimization" and "BPM & Lean: How does it fit together?" both received 89 votes. These topics underscore the need to evolve and get smarter in process optimization while embedding the lean mindset into BPM initiatives.
"How to use BPM Design Thinking - an Outside-In perspective," "Introduction to Process Monitoring & Controlling," and "Measuring and Tracking PPIs for Performance Improvement," shared the fourth spot with 83 votes each. The focus on BPM Design Thinking, process oversight, and tracking performance indicators points towards enterprises’ focus on enhanced organizational efficiency and productivity.
"How to establish a process organization in combination with a functional organization" was voted for by 78 of our surveyed customers. The growing interest in this topic highlights the popularity of blending functional and process-based organizations for greater business outcomes.
Snagging the seventh spot with 77 votes each were "Identifying and Mapping Business Processes" and "BPM & Six Sigma: How does it fit together?" These results reinforce the importance of visualization in processes and combining BPM with Six Sigma methodology to achieve superior process performance.
Finally, "Introduction to Process Analytics and Data-Driven Decision Making" received 75 votes. The growing interest in making data-driven decisions using process analytics confirms the rise of data-savvy enterprises.
