SAP Fiori elements provides standardized floorplans, allowing developers to create consistent applications in a very efficient manner. Using SAP Fiori elements can save you time and money during the implementation and maintenance phases of your project. As SAP Fiori elements provides a rich set of functionalities for the different floorplans, we introduced the SAP Fiori elements feature map to simplify navigating to the different features in the documentation. It can be accessed under SAP Fiori Elements Feature Map.

The SAP Fiori elements feature map provides the following:

  • An overview of the features available for each of the SAP Fiori elements floorplans, with the option to drill down to feature-level information

  • Specific links to detailed developer documentation and SAP Fiori design guidelines

  • The ability to search, filter, and sort content by floorplan and by feature

  • An entry point to drill down via interactive infographics

Working with the SAP Fiori elements feature map table

You can use the search field in the toolbar to navigate to the documentation of a feature.

The search field in the SAP Fiori elements feature map makes it easy to find the information you need.

In addition, you can reduce the search list by applying filters, such as for the supported floorplans.

Filters narrow your search results, bringing you closer to the information you need.

In the resulting list, you will find for each of the features: the related links to the developer documentation, the SAP Fiori design guidelines, and interactive thumbnails that show the feature on the UI.

The results screen provides direct links to developer documentation, SAP Fiori design guidelines, along with an interactive thumbnail of the feature in the right context.

Drill down capabilities

For example, you may start in the SAP Fiori element feature map with the list report.

Click on the item of interest to get started.

On the next page you can further drill down using the interactive infographics - in this example the filter bar is of interest, thus clicking on it brings you to the next level of details.

Clicking on different parts of the page, which highlight as you move your mouse over them, brings you directly to information about that screen element.

In this case, all the information that is relevant for adding an additional field to the filter bar is provided. The related annotations are shown for XML, ABAP CDS, and CAP CDS, with the option to copy the code snippets to the clipboard.

You can copy the relevant code snippet to the clipboard using the button next to the information on the screen.

You have learned how the SAP Fiori elements feature map helps you find relevant content in the rich set of functionalities provided with SAP Fiori elements. If you would like to learn more and get hands-on experience, join the openSAP course Developing and Extending SAP Fiori Elements Apps.
