General development and analytics tools tend to include more and more graphical functionality regardless of whether it is an on-premise or a cloud solution. This evolution can be observed in app development, in data modeling and in dashboard design.

The idea behind this established approach of “low-code/no-code” is to ensure a working environment based on a general validity that allows backend and frontend developers or even data modelers to focus on the optimal output, rather than worrying about writing long lines of code.

So far so good. However, real life shows, the higher the expectations on an advanced application the more deviation from the standard is necessary. Ironically, that applies to the same areas that profit from the “low-code/no-code” approach.

When it comes to dashboard design in SAP Analytics Cloud, it is the Advanced Mode in the SAP Analytics Cloud that comes into play. Any deviation from the specified standard like the presentation of your result sets in a different way is a classic task that can be easily implemented with the Advanced Mode of your SAP Analytics Cloud story.

Really easy? Well, it requires basic knowledge about its framework and JavaScript.
