At SAP Signavio, we are committed to delivering the best possible experience for our users, and part of that commitment involves continuous improvement and harmonization of our services. Today, we are excited to share some important updates regarding our SAP Signavio Process Transformation Suite, particularly our new API and Connectivity technology.

We are happy to announce the launch of SAP Signavio API Gateway, a pivotal development that will transform your integration experience. This gateway comes with industry-standard security features and a host of other enhancements designed to make your workflow smoother and more efficient.

As a significant step forward, we have already introduced the SAP Signavio Process Intelligence Ingestion API via our new API Gateway in August 2023. This marked the beginning of a transition process aimed at streamlining and optimizing our API ecosystem.

Benefits of Change:

  • Harmonization: Our SAP Signavio APIs will now align with SAP Standards and Best Practices.

  • Improved Governance: We are consolidating API management under a unified global domain, accessible at https://api.<region>.signavio.cloud.sap/*.

  • Enhanced Self-Service and Enablement: Access the API through the SAP Business Accelerator Hub and comprehensive public API documentation.

  • Technical Enhancements: Expect improvements in security, performance, and stability.

  • Customer-Facing API Dashboards: Stay informed about our roadmap through these new dashboards.

Scope of Change:

  • Region-specific URLs: We will introduce region-specific URLs to route traffic via our API Gateway before reaching the application backend.

  • URL Change: The usage of a central API Gateway in front of our existing APIs will lead to a change of the URLs. We aim to keep this change as minimal as possible.

  • Planned Deactivation of Old Endpoints: The old endpoints will continue until August 2025. Please note this is the currently planned timeline and is subject to change.

  • API Documentation: Will only contain the new URLs.

  • Request and Reply Logic and Authentication Unchanged: the request and reply logic to use the API as well as the concept to authenticate will remain the same.

  • Future-Proof infrastructure: Every new API release by SAP Signavio will utilize the new API Gateway.

Impacted APIs are:

  • SAP Signavio Process Manager API (API Docs)

  • SAP Signavio Process Intelligence Data Upload API (API Docs)

  • SAP Signavio Process Governance Trigger API (API Docs)

Timeline:

  • Planned release of the new API endpoints and start of the transition period: August 2024

  • Planned transition and technical decommissioning of the old API endpoints: August 2025

For current customers, we kindly request that you assess your current API-based integrations to evaluate the impact of these upcoming changes.

For more details on the migration and next steps, please stay tuned for further communication closer to the date of the transition period.

Thank you for your continued trust in our commitment to continuously improve and harmonize the SAP Signavio Process Transformation Suite. If you have any questions or concerns about these changes, please don't hesitate to contact us via Support.

*New APIs will be introduced with a "Fair Usage" clause.
