Syniti RDG is an SAP-endorsed application on the Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) to facilitate MDG implementation with intuitive UI and process automation. RDG automates many of the technical configuration steps that are required to implement SAP MDG and it offers a user-friendly interface to be more relatable to business users.

The Four-Eye Principle can be applied during workflow approval to ensure data quality and governance. When the feature is enabled, the person who initiated the workflow is among the resolved approvers for a particular step of that workflow; they'll be excluded from the list of approvers.

Concento RDG provides a powerful User Interface that helps a business user enable the Four Eye Principle for workflow approvals.

STEP 1: Create a CR Type in the RDG Application

  • From the home screen, select the ‘Manage MDG Workflow’ tile and then click the pritikar_0-1706619417082.png

  • Enter the required details and select pritikar_4-1706619417088.png

    1. CR Type
    2. Description
    3. Data Model
    4. Edition Type (for FI data models)
    5. Business Activity
    6. Choose either a Single Object or a Parallel
    7. Main Entity
  • The four eyes principle prevents a requestor from processing or self-approving a change request that they have submitted. It works by removing the requestor from the set of possible authorized users. The requestor is also removed from the group of authorized users in
    1. A Role
    2. An Organizational Unit
    3. A Job
    4. A Position
  • Four eyes principle can be applied to any change request type if selected at the time the change request type is created by selecting the checkbox. If the checkbox for the four eyes principle is selected, the option to disable field properties for this change request type is offered. 4pritikar_5-1706619417089.png
  • The workflow graph can be completed using any configuration of approvers and approver types, including parallel and dynamic nodes.
  • If the four eyes principle is enabled, there will be an Error message in the change request that the requestor cannot approve the change request. Any Save/Approve/Agree buttons will be disabled for the requestor.

Trigger the Four EYE Principle in the NWBC application.

  • The Four EYE Principle in the previous step is triggered when creating a Change Request of that Change Request type for which the Change Request Type was built in the RDG application. 5pritikar_6-1706619417091.png
  • If Disable Field Properties has not been selected, the Requestor can edit the change request if that option is available at that step of the change request process. 6.1pritikar_7-1706619417092.png6pritikar_8-1706619417093.png
  • If Disable Field Properties has been selected, the Requestor will not be able to edit the change request even if that option is available at that step of the change request process for other users.7pritikar_9-1706619417093.png

The above example shows how the Concento RDG provides a user-friendly interface to enable the Four Eye Principle.
