Configuration of TS Supply Planning: Forecast Consumption Profiles

Hello all!

I am facing an issue regarding the forecast consumption in IBP. I think I configured everything as needed but the results are not relevant in my planning view. Here are the steps I followed :

  1. I created a new MD named TWKFORECASTCONSUMPTIONMODE and containing the following attributes :
    • FCSTCONSMODE (being the key attribute)
    • BACKWARDPERIODS
    • DIRECTIONDESCR
    • DIRECTIONID
    • FORWARDPERIODS.
  2. I assigned the Attribute FCSTCONSMODE to the MD Location Product
  3. I created a Forecast Consumption Profiles with the following parameters :
  • ID + Name : BTWK_1
  • Enabled for S&OP Operator: Yes
  • Input Forecast: ZTOTALFORECASTLOC (the KF being flagged as Input for TS Forecast Consumption in the configuration)
  • Input Sales Orders: ZOPENORDERS (the KF being flagged as Input for TS Forecast Consumption in the configuration)
  • Output Open Forecast: ZOPENOUTPUTFCST (the KF being flagged as Output for TS Forecast Consumption in the configuration)
  • Output Total Demand: ZTOTALOUTPUTDEMAND (the KF being flagged as Output for TS Forecast Consumption in the configuration)
  • Forecast Consumption Level : PRODID and LOCID
  • Forecast Consumption Mode Assignment : TWKLOCATIONPRODUCT Location Product

4. Then I created a S&OP Operator Profiles with the following parameters :

  • Processing Mode : Batch
  • Forecast Consumption Profile : BTWK_1

Then in Excel, I created a Forecast Consumption Mode, pretty simple :

  • Forecast Consumption Mode* : 1,
  • Number of Backward Consumption Periods : 1,
  • Direction Description : First Backward then Forward,
  • Direction of the Forecast Consumption : 1,
  • Nbr of forward consump period : 2.

I assigned this Forecast Consumption Mode to my product/location combinaison :

And then in my planning view, I ran the algorithm.

However, the result are not the one that I expected. Here is what I have once I ran the algorithm :

Here is what I would have expected :

Is there anything I am missing or is it the expecting behaviour?

Thanks you very much for your help!

    Have a great day.

    Hi all,

Thanks for your many answers and sorry for my late reply!

I found my issue. The input KF were not properly stored. I made a copy operator to avoid the issue and now it works as intended 🙂

Thanks a lot for your help!

    Have a great day.
