I assume you are using the create CVC from infoprovider option. In that case you need the Date Restriction to basically let the system know which all combintations for the data records (each having a Time Bucket specified based on 0CALWEEK or 0CALMONTH) in the Infocube are to be used for generating the CVCs. Lets say your infocube contains Shipment information which you are using to generate your CVCs. Now for a very restricted date range (say 15 days) there were no shipment to a certain customer for a product. Since this record is not considered for your CVC creation you will simply miss a CVC for the customer - product combination.

> Q.What is a time series object?

We are still struggling to understand it fully. Thumbrule data in liveCache (its a blackbox) is stored in two ways Time Series and Order Series. DP data (i.e. keyfigure) is stored in Time Series form as it has a time bucket (like Week / Month) and CVC as the key.

SNP / PPDS relevant data is stored in Order Series form as they have a Time Stamp (not bucket) and a location product combination along with an ATP Category as the key.

Hope this helps.
