Hello ,

Welcome to another blog on based on my project experience's and showing a very basic requirement of Warehouse Order creation. Not many blog on the live experience are shared on SAP community here I have tried to answer one of them, I will follow it up with varies scenario's in coming days.

WOCR plays an very important role as efficient warehouse management relies on accurately determining the optimal storage bin for each item. This helps ensure that items are stored in the most appropriate location, maximizing space utilization and minimizing retrieval time

Suppose a business have requirement to determine Warehouse Order Creation Rule based on

  1. Weight of the Warehouse task
  2. Number of Item per Warehouse Order

Here we are going to discuss a scenario where business requirement is to create WOCR based Weight of the Product which is determined based on the Delivery quantity from ECC .

As per the WOCR determination process we need to perform the below step

  1. Create a Number range for WO and assign it to your WH number
  2. Create a Sort Rule for WTs
  3. Define Filters for WOCR
  4. Define Limit Values for the Size of a Warehouse Order
  5. Define Creation Rules for Warehouse Orders
  6. Define the Search Sequence of Creation Rules for Activity Areas

Now let us understand the scenario

Create Sales Order >> Create Delivery >> Creation of Outbound Delivery Request >> Creation of Warehouse Task>> Confirmation of Warehouse Task

Now as per our Scenario we have decided to create Warehouse Order based on Weight of the Product based on that I have divided the scenario into 3 Cases which would help us to understand the

Case 1: Warehouse Order Creation for a delivery with a weight of 250 kG

1.Define Limit Values for the Size of a Warehouse Order : Here we define how what would be the maximum weight of  1 Warehouse Order can be created for .

Now after the Warehouse task Creation the determined WOCR is YRW1 reason being the Maximum weight of the WOCR- Limit is 250 KG

Case 2: Warehouse Order Creation for a delivery with a weight of 500 kG

In this Case the Limit Values for the Size of a Warehouse Order : Here we define how what would be the maximum weight of  1 Warehouse Order can be created for .

Now after the Warehouse task Creation the determined WOCR is YRW2 reason being the Maximum weight of the WOCR- Limit is 500 KG

Case 3: Warehouse Order Creation for a delivery with a weight greater than 500 KG

Here as the Sales Order Gross weight is more that 500 KG so the WOCR determined in UNDE means systems has found a WOCR to apply, but cannot applied it.

Conclusion

Based on the specific requirement it is seen that the respective WOCR is determined based on the weight of the Warehouse task ,when the WT weight was overshooted it was not able to determine the defined WOCR instead fell to Undefined as exact WOCR was not found at all.

Let me know if this helps i will try to bring more working example from experience.
