Maximum Storage Bins per storage type-SAP EWM

Introduction:    Assume a Situation in a warehouse, where Huge qty of the same product is occupying the first two or three whole storage types which are near to the staging area, to avoid that business  asked to fill few bins per product in each storage type.

 

So we are going to achieve the requirement by Maximum storage bins per storage type.

 

To achieve this, we are going to do following configuration  & Testing steps

• Define Storge type configuration


• Create section & Bins and do bin sorting.


• Define WPT & Determine WPT


• Put away strategies


• Testing

 

• Define storage type configuration:

Created two storage type MMT1 & MMT2 which are copied from 0010 , and max no of bins as 3.

You have to mandatorily check the box- check max. no . bins

Note: we can use this max  no of bins functionality for both high rack and fixed bin storage types

• Create section & Bins and do bin sorting.

In above screen shots you can see plenty of bins available in both storage types.

1. Create material master and extend as Product master.

This 100 qty, packed in 5 HUs.

Now creating the put away task.

As per the max storage bins configured in Storage type, system created only 3 warehouse task in MMT1 storage type, remaining two WT created for MMT2.

 

So Max bins per storage type functionality is working fine. system determined only 3 bins in storage type -MMT1.

 

Conclusion: By above configurations and testing now you would have understood the Max storage bin functionality in Storage type configuration.
