I guess there is something I don't know but let me explain you my thoughts. Maybe you can create the proper conclusions out of that.

Preamble: Replacing the SCN spaces with tags is an excellent idea. Way more flexible, easier to categorize, easier to find. I also like the level of tags, a primary tag which does match a product and a free form tag for everything else.

Problem 1: Imagine somebody is new to Hana, so he does search for the tag "SAP Hana, primary edition" and will get back thousands of pages. All looking at different aspects of Hana, suited for different audience.

Solution: Provide a second type of fixed tags to describe the audience, e.g. overview, architecture, deep dive.

This way the person can search for all "SAP Hana, primary edition" categorized as "overview".

Problem 2: How do I find all posts for a given tag??

When I search for "SAP Hana Smart Data Integration" I get all posts, those are tagged as such and those who have all 5 words in them somewhere.

Hence I would

  1. add a specialized search button for tags only
  2. add a tag filter option to the main blog page https://blogs.sap.com/

On the main page there is more than enough space to

  1. allow filtering by month - done
  2. allow filtering by primary tag: Show me all blog posts for the product "SAP Hana Smart Data Integration"
  3. allow filtering by my new audience tag: Show me all "Overview" pages
  4. Show a tag cloud within above filter results for the free form tags to narrow down the result even further

I would then remove from all my blog posts the "This blog is part of a series...." followed by a Table of Contents with links, but rather say "To find all posts related to Smart Data Integration use the tag search" (actually, I would remove the text completely)

Thanks for sharing the great functional use case - community continuity is key (lest we be reminded of SDN to SCN).  I am of the personal opinion that if we can do the same things as we are actively doing on the current platform, or optimally even in a better or more intuitive way, then we have a winner community for the future.

The use case of hunting for organized content and more or less being guided to the information and community activities around a topic of interest or job related duties, is really the driving force for the birth of the SAP Fiori space, and the content orchestration for the All Things SAP Fiori document.
