How to search by notes, particularly their number in a fuzzy manner?
For example, I forgot the exact numbers, but I remember that it starts from 345XXXXX. How to put wildcard and search all the notes that starts from N?
I tried every way, but did not succeed. I even tried expert search but it searches the same by note title, not by number
I read this blog by Arno but the recommendations from the blog didn't work. He wrote a passage
>> If you want to use fuzzy search for a number, put it into quotation marks, i.e. use for instance “1603246” instead of 1603246. >> Phrases are always interpreted as text and therefore fuzzy search is used.If a number is combined with a word, a (fuzzy) text search is conducted.
This simply does not work. Putting number both with quotation marks and without makes search only by titles containing this number, not by the number itself. Any way to wildcard search through note numbers?
Hi Pavel,
thank you very much for your feedback.
Currently there is no Fuzzy Search or Wildcard Search available for numbers. What is meant in blog article is that if you want to search fuzzy, you need to have a phrase and therefore mark a number as phrase by using the “” characters., e.g. using “1603246” instead of 1603246. However, that does trigger a fuzzy search with the phrase on the text elements (titel etc.) of a knowledge base document, not on the number of the document.
However, I will take your requirement and forward it to the Product Owner responsible for Search.
Kind regards
Arno
