And on a related note, images pasted into a question are shown in the editor, but disappear when posting the question.

I don't know if it helps, but with a RSS add-on (I use Feedbro) you can subscribe to RSS for a specific tag. I never used the RSS link for subscribing.

For the general Q&A page (https://answers.sap.com/index.html) I see no RSS link and the add-on does not detect any feeds.

This is not my area of expertise, but RSS is just a text file with specific xml tags, I guess if you open it without having a feed reader that it might look like html at first glance, but the first line in the feeds that I downloaded is <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> unlike html pages which have to start with <!DOCTYPE HTML>.

As to the problem that images pasted into a question without using the add image dialog disappear - this has been the case for a really long time. It used to work for a while with some very old versions of Firefox ESR, but I don't think that anyone is still using these to check.

The problem with image pasting was reported back in the days, we did some digging, testing, troubleshooting, but the team never fixed it. I cannot remember if they responded to the request in other threads or blogs.

Ok, I have never used RSS, so I didn't know what to expect. I just clicked the link to see what it was.

So if I were to have such an RSS add-on in my browser (?), it would pick this xml code up automatically?

What is the purpose of this RSS?

johan.hakkesteegt I use an add-on because Firefox 64-bit dropped the support of their in-built RSS reader a couple of years ago.

I do not use Google Chrome very often, but I think that to read RSS in Chrome you also need an extension.

I use RSS mainly for blogs. The for subscribing to a feed is that you do not have to visit the site and check for new posts, when there are updates to the feed, you see a notification (similar to the notification badge in your community profile) with the number of new posts and I can read these in the feed reader.

For SAP Community blogs there is also one more benefit - the content is easier to view and read - I don't have to click on images for zooming, I can mark posts as read/unread or just delete the ones that I don't want, I can specify fonts, font sizes, theme, article width and so on... so many nice things that should have probably been a part of the personalization settings of a site, but are not.

I do not use RSS for the Q&A section here, but if you want to be notified of updates to questions or that new questions are created without visiting the site, I guess that it can be useful.
