Project Processing status change restriction in Project control app in S/4 HC

In the app 'Project Control' we have different parts of the organization managing the projects.

Basically, Sales staff 'Create' and 'Release' the projects in the 'Processing Status' functionality.

Finance 'Locks' the projects.

In general, Sales staff/Project Managers should NOT have access to 'Lock' or 'Unlock' projects, ie. they should ONLY have access to 'Create' and 'Release'.

I could not find relevant restriction in "SAP_PS_BC_PROJ_CONTRL_MC" catalog . Can this be controlled via Business Roles in S/4 HC ?

Thank you for reaching out to the community.

Looking at the business catalog SAP_PS_BC_PROJ_CONTRL_MC, I was not able to identify a restriction type on the processing status field of the project control app. The status relevant restriction type that is available in this catalog is (Order Status - ASTNR). I am not sure if this order status corresponds to the project processing status. This can be tested.

A workflow for the release of enterprise projects is currently planned for Q1/2022. This workflow can be potentially used to address your business requirement via approvals when the project status is changed.
