SAP has been continuously delivering new Innovations to customers in S/4HANA Cloud, private edition via the various releases. Over the last few releases there has been many innovations released in Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management. In this Blog we will be discussing on the new Web Dynpro Application released in SAP S/4HANA for Commercial Project management Monthly Financial Planning, this innovation is available to SAP customers from S/4HANA 2021 FPS01.
SAP Commercial Project Management provides functions that address the core business process requirements of companies that offer project-based services to their customers. These functions cover multiple processes in an end-to-end scenario spanning the selling, planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling of projects. Companies that sell projects (for example, in the professional services or the engineering, construction, and operations industries) can use these solutions to further professionalize their core business processes and expand beyond back-office capabilities.
Commercial Project Management contains 3 major areas namely
Project Cost and Revenue Planning
Project Cost and revenue planning in provides customers a project centric planning application for planning and forecasting projects. Project cost and revenue planning helps the project manager to plan the projects through out the various phases of the project right from the bid estimation, baselining the project, planning changes during the execution and forecasting. Project cost and revenue planning provides the base for plan VS actual comparison for projects.
Project Cost and revenue planning leverages the S/4HANA Capabilities of Integration with various master data such as Cost rates from Co, employee data from HR, Material data from MM, Sales pricing from SD and utilizes SAP Business Intelligence Warehouse (SAP BW), BW Integrated Planning framework to deliver an excellent planning tool.
The BW Integrated planning framework enables real-time planning, the planned data is stored in an InfoCube. Aggregation levels are used as InfoProviders for planning. They allow you to model levels containing data that can be changed manually, using input-ready queries, or automatically, using planning functions.
Customers have been accessing the Planning workbooks using Microsoft Excel and Lumira. There has been lot of investments done by customer to fit the planning workbooks to complicated planning processes customers follow in their organization.

SAP has released a new Web Dynpro application for Monthly financial planning from S/4HANA 2021 FPS01. The innovation provides a new Web Dynpro application for planning which can be published in SAP FIORI Launchpad.
Navigate to Financial Plan which you would plan
In the select application for planning the new Web Dynpro Application will be listed
Financial Planning is opened in a new window as below.
The screen has a view for Bid structure / Commercial structure with Cost plan, Revenue plan and Margin. Right hand side view for Resources and below the planning area.
Planning functions for valuation and calculation are available in the planning area and line-item wise execution of planning function is possible.
