Regarding Landscape Upgrade from SAP BW 7.4 to 7.5, Any Impact on BPC 10?

Hi,

Currently we are using NetWeaver version 7.40 for BW and now we are planning to upgrade it to 7.50 SP09 or SP10.

We are using BPC standard version i.e. BPC 10.0 Release 801. Would like to know if after upgrade to 7.5 will my existing BPC version will have any impact? I am attaching version details for your information which are currently using. Kindly advise me if there will be any impact, then what support pack level should we need to upgrade for same BPC10.0 version. Because currently we are not in a planning to upgrade to BPC 10.1.

Thanks

Parag

Yes, to be quite clear, in SAP_BW 750 the BPC code is integrated directly in the BW code, there is no longer a CPMBPC component to install.

This means it is impossible to use your existing CPMBPC 10.0 component, and SAP_BW 750 is BPC 10.1. There is no such thing as a BPC 10.0 in SAP_BW 750.

As Vadim has stated already, the changes are minimal, but it is of course still recommended to upgrade your Test system first and validate all your business processes before doing so in production.

You will also have to migrate your SAP Environments. Please consult the SAP Help portal for information regarding this:

Hi parag.sawale,

Request you to please share the steps and the checklist which needs to be checked pre-post migration.

Currently my client is also planning to upgrade to 7.4 to 7.5 BW.

I am attaching my system details.

This migration will result in upgrade to BPC 10.1. But no big issues!

Thanks Vadim for your quick response. It means we have to upgrade BPC to 10.1? Or can we continue working with BPC 10.0 version too?

Why I am asking this because currently we are not in a planning to upgrade it to 10.1 but may be this plan going to execute after 6 to 8 months. But till that time I wants to make sure if BW 7.5 SP09 or SP10 will support to BPC 10.0 or not? Please advise.

"It means we have to upgrade BPC to 10.1" - yes, answering second time!

"BW 7.5 SP09 or SP10 will support to BPC 10.0 or not" - Not!
