If you are a new SAP Subscription Billing customer or partner and are interested in learning more about how to get started with this cloud service, the SAP Onboarding Center is pleased to announce the release of new live Onboarding Webinar for this innovative solution.

I would like to give you an overview of what is covered in this webinar and point you towards some important SAP Subscription Billing information.

SAP Subscription Billing is a public cloud solution under SAP's Quote to Cash portfolio of products, that supports innovative, subscription-based business models. It enables flexible definition of product prices and automates processes such as subscription generation, rating, and preparation of billing data. SAP Subscription Billing offers comprehensive management of subscriptions throughout their life cycle.

The solution is hosted on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) which means when a customer purchases SAP Subscription Billing, the solution will be accessible via the customers SAP Business Technology Platform Global Account on the contract start date.  The IT contact on the customers contract will receive a provisioning email notifying them that their solution is available on the SAP BTP Global Account on their contract start date.  If you are not the IT contact on the contract and cannot access the SAP BTP Global Account you will need a Global Account Owner in your organization to grant you access to the SAP BTP Global Account. If that is not possible, view this blog to find out how to get support - [SAP BTP Onboarding Series] Initial Access to your SAP BTP Cockpit | SAP Blogs.  (If you would like to learn more about SAP BTP in general , please see this excellent series of blogs to help you get started - [Introducing the SAP BTP Onboarding Blog Series | SAP Blogs)

Once you have access to the SAP BTP Global account, you can start the technical set up of the SAP Subscription Billing solution.  You can set up using Booster Automation or by using Manual Steps. We recommend using the booster for non-productive tenants and manual steps for productive tenants.  A booster is a set of guided interactive steps that enable you to select, configure, and consume services on SAP BTP to achieve a specific technical goal. Boosters automate processes that otherwise require a high number of manual steps, such as onboarding applications like SAP Subscription Billing. The booster helps you onboard an SAP Subscription Billing tenant in a new or existing subaccount, including services such as Event Mesh and Price Calculation depending on the selected configuration. If you use a booster for the onboarding of SAP Subscription Billing, most of the steps mentioned under Set Up Using Manual Steps are performed automatically.
SAP Subscription Billing customers are entitled to configure up to 10 tenants with their subscription.  It is important to name the tenants clearly as Product, Test or Development during the set up.

As well as accessing the SAP Subscription Billing solution and doing the initial configuration, our customers and partners need to know about other topics pertaining to the cloud service, such as:

  • Integration Options

  • SAP for Me

  • SAP Subscription Billing Product Support

  • Cloud System Notification Subscriptions and Cloud Availability

  • S-User Administration

  • Key SAP Subscription Billing Resources

All of these above topics and more are covered in the SAP Subscription Billing Onboarding Webinar. You can register for the SAP Subscription Billing Webinar that starts on January 8th 2024 and will be held on a monthly basis thereafter.  If you cannot attend the live webinar, you will be sent a link to the recording or you can access the recorded session via the webinar registration page.

I look forward to working with you on your SAP Subscription Billing onboarding journey!  Please comment if you have any questions.
