SAP CPQ is investing in infrastructure updates to evolve our strategy and bring hyperscaler benefits to our customers to enable greater resilience, increased scale, improved integration possibilities, and more.Partnership with Microsoft Azure enables us to leverage the state-of-the-art Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) while accelerating innovations as part of the SAP roadmap.

How this is going to be rolled out?

Transitions are performed on tenant level . You will receive prior notification for each tenant (separate mails for test, sandbox, and productive tenants). We are diligently working to enable smooth migration experience with minimal impact on customers. However there are few prerequisites.

Prerequisites for migration

    1. Tenant URL
This is something you should already be familiar with and maybe you already have done it but let me reiterate as it is crucial for joint success.and it must be done before July 31, 2023. Details available on SAP CPQ Tenant URL.

    2. Document Generation Engine

      • The transition to the new underlying technology will be automatic and with the 2308 release, the document generation process will continue working as usual. However, updating or uploading new document templates might cause errors on very rare occasions. In case this happens, we encourage you to raise an official support ticket and our team will help you in preparing the new template.

      • If you are using the old Document Generation engine, you need to migrate to the new Document Generation engine that provides a faster document generation process and is compatible with the Microsoft Azure infrastructure. Migration to the new Document Generation engine must be completed before October 31, 2023. Follow the instructions on how to migrate your templates to use the new Document Generation engine. For more information, see our help page Migration from Old Document Generation to New Document Generation Engine

    3. IP Allowlist
If you previously added SAP CPQ IP addresses to the allow list, note that the SAP CPQ IP addresses will change once your tenant is moved to Microsoft Azure. New SAP CPQ IP addresses must be added to the allow list and shared early enough prior to migration start.
