Want to make a Defect class field unmandatory in QM code group

Hello,

Want to make QM code group Defect class field unmandatory or field should be blank at the the defect creation .Is there any standard way to do the same.

No. if you record a defect type via a catalog code its required. The whole purpose of this is prevent exactly what your business requirement says.

It prevents someone from using an inappropriate defect class for the defect code selected. I.e you can't pick something that is considered a major defect on one day, and the next day decide its a minor defect.
