Upgare SAP B1 2007A SP00 PL30 to SAP B1 8.8 PL21

Hi experts,

I am going to upgrade SAP B1 2007A SP00 PL 30 to SAP B1 8.8 PL21.

From the SAP document, it says:

You can upgrade your SAP Business One to 8.8 PL 21 from following versions:

- 2005A SP1

- 2005B

- 2007A SP00

- 2007A SP01 PL 15 and lower

- 2007B SP00 PL24 and lower

But I am still not sure I can upgrade directly from my SAP version to 8.8 PL 21

Does it means I can upgrade directly??

If it is not possible, what is the sequence?

Hi,

I cant remember, there is a pre-requisite before upgrading to higher PL in version 8.8.

But in our case we upgrade from version 2005B1 to 8.8 PL12, when we found errors and issue

we upgraded to PL18.

You may proceed in testing first in a separate server.

Hi Doan,

The most recommended is that you spend at least the major versions 8.82 and later 9.0. Usually the consequences are most often unpleasant because of 2007 to 9.0 PL07 there are several profound changes in B1.

*If it can do in a validation environment.

Hi Doan,

The upgrade can sometimes fail.

Although, you have followed the patchreadme.pdf instruction.

It probably caused by your database. I mean specific database issue.

So, you would be better checking the upgrade log file.

Or, you try to upgrade to SAP B1 2007A SP01 PL12 or latest PL of SAP B1 2007A

and then upgrade it to SAP B1 8.8 PL21.

If you are sure to upgrade to SAP B1 9.0, that's very much better then.

The upgrade is not just only database version upgrade, but many considerations need to check.

Hi,

Why not upgrade to SAP B1 9.0 version.

This version has a lot to offer.

But if you insist to upgrade 8.8, starts with SAP B1 8.8 PL 12.

This patch is much stable din upgrade to PL 21.

Hi,

Its better check with your local SAP partner. There is no maintenance for 8.8 version.
