Unable to Fetch Customer Material Number to display in Shipment output message

There's a requirement to fetch the Customer material number and put them in the Shipment output message.

I'm using the logic to fetch it from the VBAP>KDMAT(Customer Material).

The CMIR is also maintain but somehow it's unable to fetch it and display in the Shipment output message.

We are using a smartform for the output message.

Can someone please help?

Go to VBFA table, input the shipment number against VBELN, also VBTYP_V as C and take VBELV value. Now pass this VBELV value to VBAP table against VBELN, from where you can get the KDMAT value
