To update section code in posted FI document

Dear Gurus,

There are few documents where section code and business place are not maintained due to which we are unable to complete TDS cycle. we have tried to update MIRO document via J1INPP transaction. It update section code in posted MIRO document successfully but when I try to update any FI document it gives us message "document incomplete".

I have tried all the in and out to update section code but i couldn't find any way to update it. Solution which i have is to update it via debug.

Can any one suggest any other alternative to update it or impact if i update it by debug.

You need to define Subsitution rule .

thanks for the reply.

We have already define the Subsitution rule , but before that there are  200 fi documents which are already posted without section code.
