#questionforgroup Has anyone developed a solution for the following (plugin, add-in or otherwise...) for data capture (not reporting) of the following:
- Firstly: a x-reference table which links certain GL codes to a matrix of restricted combinations of Dimensions and Cost Centres, so that when a GL code x is selected then only Cost centre a, b or c can be selected in Dimension 1 , Cost centre x, y or z be can be selected in Dimension 2 etc etc
Note: There is no fixed distribution rule across the dimensions/cost centre combinations - only restrictions on what should be posted
The clients are not using segregated GL accounts or branches,, but where applicable, the distributions rules are restricted within the Chart of accounts settings
I am loathe to go down a UDT/FMS/B1UP query route if there is a already known solution developed to capture this .
I understand in concept that this may require some concatenation within a (user defined) table to apply the allowable combinations but I am struggling to apply to the marketing documents, especially when there is advanced GL determination in use for Item codes etc.
- Secondly: apply monthly budgets to the multi-gl code /dimension/cost centre combinations (in a UDT?)
