dear all,
hi, i would like to know about the creation of condition type, can any one help me out by letting me know - why is it said that, if you would like to creat a "new condition type" then name it either with 'Y' or 'Z'?
i shall be watting for the reply,
if some one knows about this then let me know as soon as possible.
SAP recommends starting new conditions with a Y or Z to differentiate them from SAP standard condition types... that's all. You certainly don't have to follow this recommendation, but when you have 50 new pricing conditions it's sometimes nice to know which ones are standard SAP and which are not.

hi susmitha,
its basically to differentiate objects from standard SAP to customized ones. The idea is say incase of any version upgrades SAP makes changes wherever it feels to add improvments/modifications for enhancing functionality. But there could be few unique requirements by clients which we customize. So, we dont want SAP to override them, so inorder for SAP identifying them we need to name with Y or Z.
These two letters are reserved for any customizations.
so better when you develop for example a sales document copy the standard one, change the name starting with Z and make the necessary modifications.
Thanks
