PM order internal labor plan (PM01) cost is not recorded.

hi guys,

I can't pull in internal labor costs to IW32 cost tab.

Costing variant is the same for plan and actual.

PM order captures confirmation actual cost - ok

PM order captures external procurement PLAN cost - ok

PM order does not capture operation amouns of PM01 control key lines - not ok.

So. PM01 actual works , PM01 plan does not work. Not even a record in COEP value 1.

any ideas please ?

Old forum threads refer to problems with costing variant and activity prices - I think I proved it is not my case.

Suggest starting with the cost tab of work center assigned to the operation and verify you have an activity type for internal processing and a formula key for costing (typically assigned SAP008). Check KL02 for the activity type in the work center and make note of the allocation cost element. Verify you have in KP26 assigned a rate using version 0 for plan/actual that is valid for the desired period and cost center as observed one the work center cost tab. In configuration, check Maintain Control Keys and verify the checkbox for costing is set on the PM01 key. In configuration, run Check Consistency of Value Category Assignment transaction for your controlling area and inspect the value category for internal labor; verify no red indicators, and verify the cost element matches that used on the activity type. Check the allocation structure and again verify the same cost element is a source. Lastly, be sure to use a new order to eliminate validity dates as an issue. Let us know how it goes.

Hi Jeffrey, thanks for engaging in this.

Suggest starting with the cost tab of work center assigned to the operation and verify you have an activity type for internal processing and a formula key for costing (typically assigned SAP008).
>> the key is SAP003.

Check KL02 for the activity type in the work center and make note of the allocation cost element.

>>done

Verify you have in KP26 assigned a rate using version 0 for plan/actual that is valid for the desired period and cost center as observed one the work center cost tab.

>>Rate is for whole year 1-12 2023. PM order is start-end september 2023. Work center start is August 2023.

In configuration, check Maintain Control Keys and verify the checkbox for costing is set on the PM01 key.

>> PM01 control key cost is checked.

In configuration, run Check Consistency of Value Category Assignment transaction for your controlling area and inspect the value category for internal labor;

>> I ran IMCOC4 no efect noticed. value category is fine. As I said - actual figure from confirmation is OK.

verify no red indicators, and verify the cost element matches that used on the activity type.

>> it matches.

Check the allocation structure and again verify the same cost element is a source.

>> I am not yet into settlement, so how allocation structure is helping this situation ?

Also missing allocation structure does not explain the success of internal labor actuals and external labor plan.

Lastly, be sure to use a new order to eliminate validity dates as an issue. Let us know how it goes.

>> dates are fine, and covered.

Ok - suggest testing a change to the work center formula key from SAP003 to SAP008 if you haven't already. That should eliminate potential causes except a costing variant issue. Another possibility: In SPRO, navigate to Controlling/General controlling/Planning/Maintain Category for Planning – verify you have 3 categories for PM – PMORDER01, PM0RDER02, and PMORDER03… The error could be PMORDER02 is missing which is for planned cost.

hi Jeffrey,

SAP008 did not help. Planning categories are there, all 3. Planning categories do not impact those PM screens to my knowledge, but anyway, I checked as you said - nothing suspicious, same as your screenshot.

The OSS note referenced by Mr. Babar is your next step as this doesn't appear to be functional or configuration. Those do apply to SAP_APPL 600 up to SAP_APPL 618. Other than ensuring the costing sheet config is "standard" I'm out of ideas...

hi Raheel, thanks for engaging into this.
I found this note as well. The problem is that it is for S4Core 103.

I am on 106.
