MRP after Material transfer

Dear experts,

My client wants to implement MRP for external procurement materials. The actual process of procurement ( without MRP) is to procure a root material and then do a transfer to other materials with mvt code 309 destined for sales through different distribution channels.

The MRP should calculate the requirements based on the root material, the issue is that the stock of this material is reduced due to the transfers. Therefore the requirements will not be correct.

Does the standard permit to implement MRP for this kind of procurement ?

Your guidance will be appreciated.

Hi Ibrahim, I do understand the issue. However I am quite positive you are not going to get desired effect with the config itself. There are user-exits in the are of MRP that you might use to change PR proposal. However I do question the way material 1 is "scattered" into material 2 and 3 with 309 movement type - let's leave that issue here.

If materials 1, 2, 3 are interchangeable you might consider using MPN-MRP sets: https://help.sap.com/doc/saphelp_dimp50/5.0/en-US/7f/a7e7434d6011d2b438006094b9c9be/content.htm?no_c...

Also take a look on how interchangeable parts work with MRP: https://help.sap.com/doc/saphelp_dimp50/5.0/en-US/5a/2b68ef4ed811d2b439006094b9c9be/content.htm?no_c...

Also consider that the above functionality is available in DIMP industry solution and requires activation in SFW5 transaction.

HTH, Best regards
