Link Asset to Project/WBS Element or Maintenance Order

Hi Experts,

My customer currently has orders of order type "Standing order" (PM) in the legacy system (SAP ERP 6), on which all costs associated with a certain fixed asset are collected and settled.

This is to be mapped in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud. A maintenance order is not necessarily required, as no logistical processes need to be recorded, but only normal costs (invoice, time confirmations, activity allocation, etc.). Projects/WBS elements would even be preferred.

However, it is important to the customer that a fixed asset can be assigned in some way so that the customer knows to which asset the costs are posted. The fixed asset is not the recipient of settlements, but only has an informational character.

In the legacy system, this asset can be assigned via the "Location" tab in the order. From the asset master record, you can access the standing order via Environment->Equipment. In the equipment master, the standing order is then assigned in the "Organization" tab. This gives the customer a connection in both directions.

In S/4HANA Public Cloud, as far as I know, it is no longer possible to create a connection between a fixed asset and an equipment. I also see no other way to assign an order or a WBS element in the asset master record, except for a WBS element as an account assignment element.

Furthermore, I cannot find the possibility to assign an asset directly, neither in a maintenance order nor in a project/WBS element.

Does anyone have experience in a similar topic? Is there possibly a scope item with a functionality that could fulfil these requirements?

Thank you in advance for any tips!

Best regards
Rado

Hello Rado,

AUC can be created/linked with WBS as soon as WBS is created. Same AUC can be inturn linked with final asset.

Check below blog for details. Hope this helps.

Hi Sumesh, Thank you for you answer. Unfortunately, this is not the final solution, as there are no AUC involved here, but normal, capitalised assets. The customer is not currently using any AUC at all. The system is also not a receiver of the settlement rule. The customer only needs a link between the asset and the order or WBS element so that he can see for which asset the costs have been assigned to the order. An account assignment to the CO object does not lead to an asset transaction. Regards, Rado
