where are the language details like - english, hindi are entered in sap for the employee details.

Language details are entered in the user profile (Transcation SU01)under tab Defaults.

i want the field where the languages spoken, written are entered for an employee.
languages like - Hindi, english, Telgu, Tamil, Gujarathi.

The language of Communication can be mainatined on Infotype 0002(Personal data). The field in question is pa0002-sprsl.

what u said is for only one language,
here the client want to store min. 3 languages with the proficiency of speaking, reading and writing.
how to go about it,
You could try storing them in Infotype 0024 'Skills' where you can store languages as as qualification and read, write, speak etc under proficiency.

I guess you will have to maintain such data via a Custom Infotype.. I doubt if there is any std infotype where you can store those details..
