Inspection Lot not created on Partial Confirmations of Production order

Hi,

Our requirement is that when ever user make as many Partial Confirmations and a Final Confirmation using tcode CO11N, an Inspection Lot to be created against the Production order.

We have set the material with QM view on and Inspection Plan with MICs attached as shown below but upoon Confirmations no Inspection Lot is generated when checked with tcode QE51N or QA32

please guide if any settings are missing or this cannot be done as required.

Dominik provide the correct answer. (choice #1 - material document, batch, storage location should also work too for you.).

Your second issue is that the system now can't calculate the correct sample size. This could possibly be related to the sample calculations for the lots. It is probably doing a calculation somehow based on the order size and not the partial qty size. Or the partial qty size is resulting in calculation that doesn't work. (for instance, you have tests that require a minimum of 100g and you only partially confirmed 80)

Inspection lots in CRTD status never show in transaction QE51n.

Try opening the inspection lot in QA02 and manually execute the sample calculation and see if it gives you an errors that might hint at the problem.

Hi Craig,

Issue was resolved by following your advice for looking at the error in QA02. In Inspection Specification tab upon clicking of Task List/Spec button it said that No Task List assigned and on reading the Help it said that Usage to be same for Plan i.e. 05. Well i checked and it was 03 (Universal) in QP02, so i changed it. Now for all previous Inspection Lots, upon clicking the TaskList/Spec button the Task List is being assigned and Lot was Released and entries done successfully. Now for new Production orders, the Inspection Lots are in Released state already.

Hi Faisal, the system is behaving correctly, according to the setup of inspection type details in the material master data - examine the field "Control InsLot" that have the value of 2:

Now check the documentation of the field:

'2' An inspection lot for each material and batch

If you set this indicator, the system creates only one inspection lot for each material and batch. This setting is only advisable for materials with a batch management requirement.

It means that the system will create an inspection lot only for the first goods receipt (partial confirmation) of the material/batch. All other receipts/confirmations of the same material/batch will be assigned to already existing inspection lot.

Just change the value of the field to blank, which is according to the field documentation:

' ' An inspection lot for each material document item (No lot summary)

Now the system will create inspection lot for each goods receipt/partial confirmation.

Hi Faisal, consult the following SAP support notes about the issue with inspection plan that could not be found:

2112741 - Inspection plan is not selected when inspection lot is created; Inspection lot status is C...

139968 - Inspection lot has status 'CRTD' instead of 'REL'

Hi,

I changed the settings and this time I could see the Inspection Lot row in QA32 but cannot do any entries. Upon double clicking the Inspection lot, it shows status as follows:

When Result is clicked it says (though Inspection Plan was created as shown in my first message)

Also the same Inspection Lot does not even appear in QE51N
